Battery Commissioning
Proper commissioning of the DC battery system is essential for proper operation of the battery and for establishing baseline data. This baseline data is critical for follow-on trend analysis and for warranty related issues.
All of our commissioning procedures follow all applicable IEEE standards and include:
- Thorough visual inspection
- Measure and record battery temperature
- Measure and record overall voltage
- Measure and record individual jar\cell voltages
- Measure and record internal jar\cell resistance
- Measure and record intercell\interjar resistance
- Measure and record specific gravity (if applicable)
- Check electrolyte levels and fill (if applicable)
- Clean and neutralize any electrolyte on battery covers or racks
- Wipe off dust and debris to eliminate parasitic paths for conduction
- Perform acceptance capacity (load) testing of the battery
Upon completion of our commissioning procedures, we provide a detailed maintenance report that includes procedures, conclusions and recommendations.
